"As long as my breath is in me.."
So this blog came up randomly as I was supposed to be writing about another topic, so hopefully, this makes sense and helps someone who might need it. If not this is a blog about some things that I've been learning recently.
The beginning of this conversation starts in Job 25 when Job's friend Bildad is speaking on man's righteousness compared to God,
Job's response to Bildad is a correction that says he will speak the truth of who God is. It is a response that lovingly tells Bildad, you're wrong, but I will speak the truth of who God is because I know His character and what you're saying is not it.
This is an example from Job that I want to follow, to spread the truth of God over all of the misconceptions and lies that follow Him and His name. The enemy has used and is using the nominal church to muddy the Father's image, through false doctrines and false teachers. It is our responsibility as the Body of Christ to reflect His image and to speak the truth about who He is.
Now the whole reason Job is able to correct his friend Bildad, is because he has cemented himself in who God is, and who God says he is. This is something that I feel we are all on a journey to fully understand.
"as long as my breath is in me,This passage has been something that the Lord has been speaking into me recently, and I'll admit this is a strange passage. When you first look at it and you see that it's from Job you instantly think, "well this is going to get depressing," but when you look at the context a couple chapters before, you start to see everything unravel.
and the spirit of God is in my nostrils,
my lips will not speak falsehood,
and my tongue will not utter deceit.
Far be it from me to say that you are right;
till I die I will not put away my integrity from me.
I hold fast my righteousness and will not let it go;
my heart does not reproach me for any of my days." Job 27:3-6
The beginning of this conversation starts in Job 25 when Job's friend Bildad is speaking on man's righteousness compared to God,
"Dominion and fear are with God;In this passage everything Bildad says about God is true, God is a God who requires awe and we should fear Him. His angel armies are massive, and His light shines over everyone. However, Bildad forgets a very important fact, which is the Father's love for us. Yes, we mess up and yes we deserve nothing less than to die for our sins, "For the wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23). But, God created us to have a relationship with us. So when Adam and Eve sinned, He had a plan, to send Jesus down and pay the price for our sin on the cross. In short, God is a great God, who deserves respect and awe from us, but He's also a loving God who knows that we are sinful, and who knows that we will mess up, so He created a way where we could be in right relationship with Him.
he makes peace in his high heaven.
Is there any number to his armies?
Upon whom does his light not arise?
How then can man be in the right before God?
How can he who is born of woman be pure?
Behold, even the moon is not bright,
and the stars are not pure in his eyes;
how much less man, who is maggot,
and the son of man, who is a worm!" Job 25:2-6
