BGU Sophomore Life Update
So it is officially November and officially three months into the school year, this past year at Bethany has been a whirlwind to say for sure. There have been many things that have helped bring me this far, but the biggest thing has been God's unwavering faith and comfort in time of need and motivation. I was just thinking the other day of how far I've come and remembered that if I were to of stayed in regular school that I would be a senior in college this year! Which is crazy! Lord knows that I am not ready for that season and I am happy to be in college for the next two and (almost) a half years.
For those of you who have been following me on my journey, you know that I am at Bethany Global Universtiy studying Intercultural Ministry and Bible/Theology while minoring in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Over the past year, I have been studying things such as culture, world religions, an in-depth study of the Bible, and developing my own theology. There have been growing pains along the way and honestly, there were some days where I wondered what I was here for. Days, like I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, called the Task Remaining (go check it out if you haven't read it yet, the statistics are mind-blowing!), days where all I could do was go back to my room and cry over the frustration that many people are dying without having the chance to even hear the name of Jesus spoken.
However, just as there have been bad days there have been many beautiful days where the Lord has shown me His heart for the lost, and His heart for His people. Days, where we have gotten the chance to pray over visiting missionaries and be able to minister to them as they go back to the people that they're working with.
Bethany has become my home within this short year that I've been here and I am so thankful for this opportunity to study here. Even more so, I am thankful for everyone who has been supporting me in prayer and encouraging me over this past year. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have a home church and family back in Florida and around the world that is willing to pray for me.
As I'm going through my Sophomore year my main focus is coming to the completion of my Junior and Senior years which will both be on the field. Part of the program I am in is a sixteen-month internship overseas where I will be working with the people there while finishing up my studies. I am so excited for this next season of my life and cannot wait to finally get on the field. As I get closer to leaving I am preparing to start fundraising for this season of my life as well as putting together a prayer team for while I'm over there. Within the next week, I'll be sending out a newsletter talking more about what I will be doing while I am overseas (for safety I can only share certain things on this platform). So if you are interested in receiving a newsletter and becoming a part of my prayer team send me your email on Facebook messenger.
